Rokstone Underwriting Expands into the MENA Region with New DIFC License
The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has officially granted Rokstone Underwriting, a leading specialty re/insurance managing general agent (MGA), a regulatory license to operate within the prestigious Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The DIFC is renowned as a premier financial hub, strategically serving the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa (MENA) regions, governed by a unique set of private laws and an independent judicial system.
Securing this license marks a pivotal milestone in Rokstone’s ambitious strategic expansion plans. The new office in Dubai is set to focus on broadening their specialty risk solutions, capitalizing on the burgeoning insurance market in the UAE. This expansion will allow Rokstone to tap into the fast-growing demand for high-quality re/insurance underwriting in the region.
James Potter, the CEO of Rokstone, expressed his enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to officially launch our Dubai operations, extending our MGA model into the MENA region. Dubai and the DIFC represent a thriving regional hub, providing unparalleled access to diverse regional markets. The local talent pool and the region’s connectivity make it an ideal base for our operations.”
Potter further noted, “With its favorable economic policies, significant levels of investment, and increasing demand for high-caliber re/insurance services, Dubai is perfectly aligned with our established yet agile MGA approach. Our wealth of specialist knowledge, technology-driven solutions, and disciplined methodology present considerable value to both brokers and carriers operating across the region.”
