Ignite Specialty Risk Broadens Its Horizons in the EEA
Ignite Specialty Risk, a leader in litigation risk insurance solutions, has announced its strategic expansion into the European Economic Area (EEA). This move introduces their suite of litigation insurance products, which includes After The Event (ATE) insurance along with specialized Capital Protection Insurance (CPI) for both single risks and portfolios, to a new audience. These offerings aim to enhance Ignite’s established presence in the United States and the United Kingdom.
The decision to expand into Europe is driven by a rising demand for litigation insurance, a trend fueled by the European Union’s 2020 legislation on representative actions. Jamie Molloy, Head of ATE and Co-founder of Ignite Specialty Risk, emphasized the significance of this expansion, stating: “Expanding into the EEA is a pivotal step for Ignite. The region’s increasing appetite for specialist litigation insurance underscores the vital role of accessible risk-transfer solutions.”
Echoing this sentiment, Byron Sumner, CEO and Co-founder of Ignite, remarked, “Following our US expansion in 2024, we are delighted to extend our innovative product offerings to insureds within the EEA.” He further added, “Last year, institutional financiers and law firms in the US began leveraging our products to facilitate substantial risk transfer and enhance access to justice. By entering the EEA market, we are committed to delivering tailored solutions that address the complexities of cross-border disputes.”
Sumner concluded, “This strategic expansion underscores our dedication to equipping businesses and legal teams with effective tools to manage litigation risks.”
